Shades of Autumn
As the winter months draw closer we're nostalgically remembering our summers spent camping under the stars, it's hard to believe that only a few weeks ago we were sitting outside by our fire at Eastnor Castle watching a firework display (a perk of camping there is nearly every Saturday there is a wedding at the Castle with amazing fireworks!). We've visited some amazing camp sites this year, from the Quiet Site with it's eccentric bar with a blazing fire to Middle Woodbatch Farm with only 10 pitches and a beautiful white horse that shimmers like a unicorn under the starlit sky. It's sad saying goodbye to the summer days, but with Christmas not far away we've got lots of brilliant ideas for Christmas presents, from his and hers headtorches to great plates for the kids, to give you something to look forward to the coming year. With bonfire night fast approaching we wish you lots of fun in these crisper days and will keep you posted on our Christmas promotions.

Balloon with a Story travels 200 miles
Everybody has heard of sending a message in a bottle, but here is a story with a twist. Glamper Camper recently supplied 34 helium filled Illoom balloons to the Scout Group in Pangbourne, where new Beavers and Cubs released them to to celebrate their investitures in the 1st Purley and Pangbourne Scout Group.

Illoom Balloons being released into the night sky |
Each of the balloons, which were released from Pangbourne Primary School, had a contact number on it and the name of a Beaver or a Cub. Incredibly, less than 12 hours later, the group received a text from fisherman Julian Barker, who found a balloon off the coast of File in North Yorkshire more than 200 miles from where the balloon was released!
You never know, a call from Australia could be next...

Great or Gimmick?
Check out this new tent from The Monster Factory - sold by Firebox this VW Campervan tent does camping with an attitude. Proving that if you believe it enough then others will too, this tent really does look like a campervan from across the field. With two double rooms and standing height, whilst this tent is not a practical family tent, it is perfect for couples for festivals, for teenagers on hiking trips and as a focal point for garden parties. At £299 it's reasonably priced and if nothing else it will certainly turn some heads!

Eastnor Castle
Why Go?
If you love camping but sleeping a metre away from the next tent isn't your thing try Eastnor Castle, a beautiful slice of countryside near Ledbury. This site is not for the faint hearted, there are no facilities here apart from running water, BUT this is what makes this site a true find. With no showers, toilets or washing up facilities, all but the most fearless campers would run a mile, leaving this campsite virtually deserted most of the time. For those who do choose to stay, you are guaranteed a huge amount of sky, acres of beautiful woodland and grass, a stream perfect for little toes to dip in, and two huge lakes (which you're not supposed to swim in, but are great for a quick dip), along with a very large amount of silence. If camping for you means really getting back to basics, and you like to do this with a view, then look no further.
What you'll need
You'll need a portable toilet (you can buy perfectly decent ones for £20), a toilet tent if you're worried about privacy (we made do with a wind screen strategically positioned), a washing up bowl and a very comfortable chair to enjoy all that solitude.
Booking
You can't prebook this site, you simply turn up and at some point somebody will come and take an incredibly small amount of money from you for your pitch. Do check the website though as sometimes the campsite is not available due to events taking place.

The Ultimate Water Bottle
http://www.glampercamper.co.uk/contigo-hydration-bottle-pink.html
This is an amazing bottle, perfect for water at night (next to your bed for easy access in the dark), for milk in your fridge during the day to reduce those annoying spills, and wine in the evening. You need to own this to appreciate it's true value - I use mine daily at home!

We love weddings in fields
Glamper Camper loves outdoor weddings. Green grass, sun drenched ceremonies, the occasional dramatic downpour at the moment of the wedding vow, the union of lovers with nature, it doesn't get much more exciting than than this.
