Eastnor Castle

Why Go?
If you love camping but sleeping a metre away from the next tent isn't your thing try Eastnor Castle, a beautiful slice of countryside near Ledbury.  This site is not for the faint hearted, there are no facilities here apart from running water, BUT this is what makes this site a true find. With no showers, toilets or washing up facilities, all but the most fearless campers would run a mile, leaving this campsite virtually deserted most of the time.  For those who do choose to stay, you are guaranteed a huge amount of sky, acres of beautiful woodland and grass, a stream perfect for little toes to dip in, and two huge lakes (which you're not supposed to swim in, but are great for a quick dip), along with a very large amount of silence. If camping for you means really getting back to basics, and you like to do this with a view, then look no further.

What you'll need
You'll need a portable toilet (you can buy perfectly decent ones for £20), a toilet tent if you're worried about privacy (we made do with a wind screen strategically positioned), a washing up bowl and a very comfortable chair to enjoy all that solitude.

Booking
You can't prebook this site, you simply turn up and at some point somebody will come and take an incredibly small amount of money from you for your pitch. Do check the website though as sometimes the campsite is not available due to events taking place.
